Elegant
Bridal Wear To Make You Look Beautiful On Your Wedding Day
Scrapbooking is fast becoming a popular hobby in South Africa and a lot of people use this home-made photo albums to preserve memories such as the first year of University or the 21st birthday. You can find out more information on scrapbooking here. I am only going to cover some wedding scrapbooking ideas in this article.
Some people think that collecting the photographs and bits and pieces from the wedding day is too much work. It does not have to be difficult. Creating a wedding scrapbook album is actually very easy if you plan and organise all the tasks beforehand.
Plan what you want to put in your wedding scrapbook.
You need to create a beautiful wedding scrapbook that you will be proud to show your grandchildren one day when you and you husband have retired. You can get the colours and theme for your scrapbook from the initial theme of your wedding. If blue is the main colour for the celebration then you can have that as a the cover colour for your book. Remember that this wedding scrapbook will be seen being your grandchildren as well.
Shop for discount scrapbooking supplies online and revive those wedding memories.
The wedding scrapbook also needs to be large enough if its going to be able to store all your wedding photos and material. You can start collecting the wedding photos right from engagement day through to the honeymoon. There are a lot of cover sizes that you can have for your scrapbook. You can have a 6x6 or 8x8 or 10x10 album.
The most popular wedding scrapbook colour theme is the classic black or white
cardstock background. It looks really wonderful and enhances thewhite in wedding
albums. I also love mulberry flowers, ribbons, vellum and fabric. Deep reds and
pinks accents are gorgeous, too, for simple embellishments.
Incidentally, this wedding scrapbook kit, pictured at right, features
pre-coordinated wedding papers, stickers, and embellishments.
Go through your photos and memorabilia
For me, scrapbooking is about telling the stories of our lives, so I love to
work with the photographs that really tell a story. You'll want to choose only
the best and most interesting photographs for your wedding scrapbook album. (The
posed portrait-type photos can be framed and sent to family members.) Store the
remainder of the photos in a companion photo album. Remember, simple is elegant.
It's also a good idea to work with duplicates of your priceless wedding photos.
You may find that you want to work with these photos again in the future, and
you're certain to feel more of a creative license if you know that the originals
and intact and safe.
Memorabilia. I tend to go easy on memorabilia...maybe keeping the majority of it
in a memento box along with my companion photo album and scrapbook, because I
don't like to detract from the story of the album.
Memorabilia you might want to include (either directly on the page or in a
special pocket):
- Wedding and shower invitations
- Fabric from your dress or bridesmaid dress
- Receipts
- Honeymoon plane tickets
- Place cards
- Bridal registry
- Shower gift lists
- Napkins
Make a simple checklist of the kinds of things you'd like to include, but trust
your inner artist to take the reins and let the story unfold.
