Wedding Bliss - Google billionaire ties knot
Mountain View - Google co-founder Sergey Brin, one of the world's richest men, has gotten married, according to a newspaper report.
Brin, 33, married Anne Wojcicki, a biotech entrepreneur whose sister was Google's first landlord, in a secret ceremony in the Bahamas earlier this month, the San Jose Mercury News reported on Wednesday, citing several wedding guests who requested anonymity.
Brin, worth an estimated $16.6bn, and Wojcicki swam out to a sandbar while most of the 60 guests travelled to the wedding site by boat, according to the newspaper. The couple were married in a traditional Jewish ceremony, with Brin stomping on a glass as a symbol of faith and new beginnings.
When a reporter congratulated Brin on his marriage at a media event on Wednesday, the Google co-founder said he wanted to keep the discussion focused. He was not wearing a ring.
Wojcicki's sister, Susan, an early Google employee, rented her Menlo Park garage to Brin and Google co-founder Larry Page in 1998 after they left Stanford University to launch the company. She later introduced the couple to one another.
